About

KJ (26) croppedI

am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#90129) who wants to work with you to reframe and solve the issues that prevent you from living a full and rewarding life. I believe passionately in the value of the therapist-client relationship in becoming aware of those issues that prevent you from moving forward. What we discover and experience together in the therapy room can create changes in your relationships with friends, family, employers, and others.

During my extensive training, I worked with individuals, couples, and led a women’s empowerment group at the Women’s Clinic and Family Counseling Center. There I have treated many clients with a combination of psychodynamic techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, relational therapy, and existential examination. My experience at Teenline, a teen-to-teen hotline operating out of Cedars-Sinai Hospital, has given me insight into the struggles of teenagers as they explore their identities and deal with the issues in the very complicated world they face today. I recently completed a year-long training in the Trauma Studies Program at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Analytic Studies and have incorporated what I have learned in treating those who have experienced serious childhood and adult trauma.

My office is in Santa Monica and I am part of the Yale Street Therapy Group (www.yalestreet@squarespace.com). We are a collective of therapists collaborating to provide a wide variety of services and specialties. In this way, the couple or family are able to coordinate their care within the group
